P is for ... Poppy Up Close

Thinking ahead for today's challenges, I found a poppy seedhead I had used to provide seeds for a macro shot back in September - the tiny seeds have a wonderful structure. So today I give you a P for Poppy as DDW's February 2014 Alphabet Challenge.

For Bobsbitz59's Technique Challenge, I took my 100mm Macro lens and added a full set of extension tubes (65mm) to get really close - the shot has been cropped to 8x10 to lose width, not height. I also used a tripod and remote release for the long exposure. If you look carefully there are still some seeds clinging to the seedhead.
