When this wee guy arrived with us he couldn't stand or fly, just flopped on his bum. After weeks of care and rehabilitation, he's now strong in wing, his legs are still a bit wonky, probably a permanent disability , but he can perch.

You can see the beginnings of the famous tui throat wattle and the beautiful green shimmer that you only see with the light in the right place.

He sat on DawGals hand for 22 seconds just looking around , taking it in , gathered himself, then he flew.
