Now the festival is over
and it's time to head off home
back to work and back to teaching
no more time to call my own....


and my birthday rose has kind of had it! Still, gave me a blip subject to play with, since the weather is p*ss awful again, after yesterday's lovely blue skies.

Today was in fact my only work day of this week. The rest of the week I am more or less free. Friends and children are coming round tomorrow: I pray that it may not rain the whole day!

This evening I attended the first meeting of the random book club in the Prince Albert pub. I intend to blip this another time, but the premise was simple: bring a book you're prepared to give away; and receive a random book in return. After the distribution of the books we sat around and talked, mainly about what we like to read, but not exclusively about books. What a great idea it was, and so elegantly organised by Jess, aka blipper Ixxxy, though she is not blipping right now.

I think I'll get my head down early tonight. Two nights of sleeping in a hotel opposite a thumping night club have made me appreciate anew the pleasures of home, where I awake to the sound of birdsong, as opposed to urban seagulls and rush hour traffic.
