Why did the peacock cross the road?

Had a totally surreal moment today. I was driving through one of the villages doing my 'rounds', and had to stop the car to let a peacock across the road!! It jumped up onto this wall, so I wound down the window and took a photo. Unfortunately I only had my mobile to capture this magnificent bird with.

It was only when I got the photo on my laptop this evening did I realise I had captured the reason the peacock had crossed the road = to get to the Peahen (red arrow on the pic).
