Louring
NB.
After comments/suggestions by by various people (e.g. my wife, Seaurchin, Slant...) I have decided to exchange the original main blip-photo for this secondary picture of the stormcloud, which I had inserted in the text. Everyone seems to feel it is the more powerful image. I think they may be right.
Picked him up at the creche and, after a glance at the threatening weather, decided to drive to the indoor playground/sports centre in the Dublin Mountains. It's about a 15 minute drive and he fell asleep just as we arrived. A vast whale of a cloud was wallowing on the city, thunder grumbling deep in its belly. I pulled over and shot quite a few frames, till I became uncomfortable with the look of that cloud (now releasing the odd flicker of lightning), and our nearness to it; part of it was actually swirling like a mini tornado, straining for what I think the storm-chasers call STG, sky-to-ground contact.
