Weathervane, West Chiltington Church
A different church picture today! The first proper day of Half Term. It is far too wet to walk anywhere much. The drive down to here which is 6 miles confirmed that as much with very wet roads and soggy fields.
This is the weathervane on the spire of St Mary's Church in West Chiltington. The church dates from the 12th Century and contains much of interest, including important wall paintings. Most of the weathervanes on churches I have visited seem to always have a gilded weathervane and this one is no exception.
