Coast and Country

Amazingly good weather on the little Island of Gozo, walking on the coastline today, clear blue skies, sunny and hot no wonder I look rather sun red despite factor 30 protection.

Terraced fields, some nicely cultivated some abandoned and now overgrown with weeds, (although beautiful flowery weeds)

Coast line is largely sandstone carved by the sea and wind into smooth shapes, next to the sea you can still see the carved channels to the salt pans used to evaporate pools of sea water to gather the expensive salt all those years ago. Long since abandoned in favour of cheaper salt supplies.
