GORPLEY CLOUGH
Brolly blip today!
Gorpley Clough is a steep sided upland clough. Oak, birch woodlands cover both
sides, while a stream tumbles down the middle. Sections of the upper clough have been developed into wetland areas. This is an important area for birds such as woodpecker and redstart, while insects and butterflies can be seen in the summer months. There is also evidence of mining on site that could be home to bats.
