Hewenden Viaduct, Cullingworth

Back to normal today - rain - but very little wind.
Fed up with squelching through mud, so had a walk along the Great Northern Railway Trail at Cullingworth.
This is Hewenden Viaduct which comprises 17 arches, each 50 feet in span, and is 376 yards long. At 123 feet high, it was the second tallest in England when built. Opened in 1884, the last traffic to cross the viaduct did so in 1963.
Since 1985 it has been Grade II listed and is now tarmacked to form part of the Great Northern Railway Trail (for walkers, cyclists and horse riders).
