LIZARDS!

Our stay at Alam Kotok was excellent - we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery, gentle breeze, fresh air, and (most of ) the nature. One of our favorite things to do was to track down the monitor lizards that live on the island.

While the monitor lizards look quite scary, they are pretty scared of humans and would go crashing into the jungle if you came too close to them. They are related and look similar to Indonesia's more famous Komodo Dragons, but not poisonous!

After this one came close to us while we were eating lunch, it decided to go for a swim! It walked right down to the ocean, crawled in, and swam around for a while down the coast. It was awesome!
