Wright Creek, North Umpqua Trail

After the high-pressure week of basketball, I needed a day in the mountains. I chose the North Umpqua Trail at Wright Creek. Lots of water with the recent deluges. I saw not one hiker in 2 1/2 hours of ramble. Just the quiet of my boots on the muddy trail, an occasional scolding of a jay, the North Umpqua River roaring 500 feet below the trail, and the whisper of wind through the cedar, hemlock, and fir. I guess this music seemed to fit it most today.
