House Spider

Found this brown house spider in my bathroom! I think it must have crept down from the loft but after I photographed it I put him into the garden! Not all that keen on spiders! I put him in a glass because I knew he would escape before I had the chance to capture him. I googled house spiders and discovered that despite its name, it is rarely seen in houses, preferring sheds, garages, and log piles, and can survive for several months without food or water.
