Cast a Long Shadow

Living in the same small town as generations of relatives gives you a real sense of belonging. It's always interesting to think that you're literarily treading the same path as your forefathers.

This is best brought home by a visit to the local cemetery. There's two sections, an old bit and a new bit and both are interesting. The old section features all the familiar surnames in the town but are mostly 75 years old or more. The new section is modern with a lot of people I remember.

The other draw is the opportunity for atmospheric photos. There are better older cemeteries for that but early morning in Newburgh as the sun rises through Glenburnie the light is perfect.

So here is my Blipfoto from the old section, with long shadows and great light.
