Sydney Opera House from the Botanical Gardens

Late blip as I crashed out last night when we got back to the hotel at 9 pm and slept until 8 am this morning. Hopefully I have now caught up on sleep!!

Another damp morning! We caught the free bus to the top of George Street (to save time and our feet for the planned long walking day) and headed for the Sydney Opera House. The tour was awesome and we saw the 3 theatres and 2 auditorium, which were being prepared for performances this evening. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the theaters. We had hope to do the backstage tour, but that has to be booked in advance and starts at 6.45 am!!

We then set off to walk through the Botanical gardens and all the parks down to the ANZAC Memorial. The parks and gardens are beautiful and have native birds unconcerned by the passing visitors. I managed to get some pictures, but by this time it was raining heavily!!

A short break at the hotel to have coffee, a rest and dry off, before we set off for Darling Harbour and the Sea Life aquarium. We ate at one of the many restaurants at the harbour on the way back to the hotel, Thai curry and Tiger beer were our choice of the day and enjoyed.
