Wave hits the seawall of the road to Fortrose, at Avoch, on the Black Isle. The traffic was getting a good soaking with the salt water. An exceptionally high Spring tide, combined with very low pressure and Southerly gales, to make the wall of the harbour just about disappear!
The wind fetch* is only a couple of miles here - across the Inner Moray Firth. Had this been a wave coming in from the open sea, or ocean, it would've been huge.
Took a couple of shots of the waves with this camera today. This was the best of the two. Also took some colour film ones with an ancient film that's been in the Olympus Trip for decades. Still don't know if that camera's working or not yet.
(* - uninterrupted distance over which the wind blows without a significant change in direction)
