Bb at The Palace

It's Bb's birthday today and we're celebrating it with a special lunch at The Copacabana Palace Hotel.

We've just had a Skype call with my mother-in-law, who was with here with us a few years ago and so it was nice for her to be with us again for a few minutes, albeit virtually from Scotland. We took her on a wee video tour round the pool and the buffet tables. He's already had a few phone calls and texts from friends and family. Nice! The manager of the restaurant also clocked onto it and he and all the white-shirted staff arrived at our table with a birthday cake, candle, singing the Portuguese happy birthday. Never mind that it was before we'd been up for our main course - it's an amazing buffet they do here on Sundays and we were enjoying the experience!
