Endorphins

A beautiful day. The sun was splitting the sky, that beautiful clear blue sky you get in the winter. I'd had another late night, phoning cousin J in Melbourne. She's meeting me in KL in a few weeks and we were having a planning session. looks like KL first then on to Cambodia. Luckily I can have these cross national calls from my bed.

Much as I loved to see the sun there was a downside as I knew that I was to be inside for most of the day, for the 'Big Big Sing'. I had planned to walk to the Usher Hall but as usual I got distracted with ironing and sic like things. I did walk though, down the Brae and then along the Meadows.

It's been a while since I've been in the Meadows and as you could expect on a sunny Sunday morning they were busy with cyclists and joggers and tennis players and children and the mad army boot camp folk. I had a quick peer through the railings at the Dower House but no sign of Lady Findhorn or his Lordship. And the who should I bump into a few paces on, the ennobled couple well wrapped up and out for a dander.

And my endorphin count fairly increased this afternoon with 4 hours of communal singing. The Big Big Sing is part of the Commonwealth Games community programme and it was great fun. We sang songs from Trindad, Kenya, South Africa and Samoa and in all these languages too. The Samoan was especially tongue twisting. There was a lot of laughter and clapping and shaking and moving. Looking forward to 10,000 voices in Glasgow on 27 July. Singing is as good for the heart as yoga!

A good day all round. And a busy week ahead - Tuesday and Wednesday in London and Newcastle on Friday. And I have to sort out Cambodia!
