Source of the River Hull

The River Hull actually starts with a collection of springs located in the now deserted medieval village of Elmswell.

The springs bubble along a route as the crow flies from Garton-on-the Wolds to Kirkburn. The water starts to flow into a stream near the church in Kirkburn. This picture was taken from our friends house about fifty yards downstream. The chalk strata just beginning to show through which makes the water so clear.

Incidentally, our friends were out, so we didn't get a coffee and ended up trespassing!
