River Earn Salmon

Second day of our autumn fishing trip on the River Earn north of Perth.

I took this lovely lady after a few minutes in a great pool on a corner, with a fast current. We managed to land her even with Dave's holey net. We guessed that she was about 12lbs.

As she was a bit coloured and ready to spawn, I released her. I held her in the water for about ten minutes before she swished her tail and went back to her incredible journey. A great feeling to hold her in the river and lovely to watch her swim away. I hope she survives back to sea when she has met some men fish.
