A good read

Friday I finished my read, Calling me home. A terrific read. About the forbidden love, that starts in 1939 in Kentucky, USA, between a black boy and an well-to-do white girl. The chapters alternate between the present and the past.

In the present the white girl is a 90 year old lady who has asked her befriended black hairdresser to drive her many miles home for a funeral. Even though she doesn't say whose funeral it is, the hairdresser senses it's important and complies. Even when she has some things in her personal life with a new love and a troubled teenage son to sort out.

Both story lines are well worth the read!
