Pony Club Day

The day after the A & P Show each year the local Pony Club holds a meet.

I arrived back from Nelson in time to take a few photos before it was all over.

Although this is not my best photo of the day, it wins my choice on cute factor alone. And this is something of a special moment.

H's last ride and jump on Percy. She has ridden him for some years now but he is elderly and ready for a quieter life. At the same time, young H is ready for a livelier and more challenging pony. So tomorrow he goes off to a new home, and a new pony comes to live with Miss H as her new ride.

A sad and exciting time.
