Following the herring

I took part in a community project today. The Follow the Herring project celebrates the women from fishing communities that followed the herring fishing fleets along the east coast of Scotland and England and today I made seaweed that will be part of an art instalation that will show a herring boat, net and a shoal of herring. My conribution was small but I had a good time chtting to people making various bits and pieces to go on the display. People were knitting with massive kntting needles to make the planks for the boat.
