Mrs Ogg aka the Angel
Figurine on top of the 'Angel building' at Paisley road toll has the official name of 'Commerce and Industry' and is attributed to James Alexander Ewing as sculptor.
The figurine has affectionally been referred to locally as Mrs Ogg.
Originally the building housed the Ogg bothers drapery warehouse (designed by Donald Bruce and Edward Hay in 1889) before becoming a Burtons men's outfitters and is now, since 1989, the well respected Italian restaurant 'La Fiorentina'.
