Edinburgh explored
On my way to see a friend's exhibition at Mc Naughtan's bookshop in Elm Row(details here) I cut through back streets between Broughton Street and Gayfield Square and discovered a bit of Edinburgh that I had not yet set foot in.
I love the way higher places (such as the monument on Calton Hill as well as the castle and Bridges) keep appearing in one's vista in places where you do not expect to see them.
First day without family nearly done and I'm slowly getting used to being on my own. Will go to St Giles at Six tomorrow evening, what I do in-between I don't know yet. Maybe start the linocut? Let's see.
