Between fen and mountains

Just a trickle

The world's weather patterns are changing and it is quite alarming. That is a statement of the obvious to those experiencing the awful flooding in the UK. It is also evident here. There really has not been a winter yet. The spring flowers are coming out and the river which was up to the top of the walls two years ago at this time of year, is now a fairly tame trickle. It is a shame the river was canalised and no longer meanders prettily through the village but the construction of these defences was a necessity after the terrible floods of 1940 which swept away much of the lower village and thermal spa.
