tracks of life

massively behind on blips here, so here's the start of a few to catch up.

back in thailand again. been a fun journey getting over here this time. found out upon check-in that my agent had booked all of my flights with exception of the first leg to atlanta. with airlines so tight these days, the flight was sold out, and there was no possible connection to atlanta with delta.

second move, suggested by emergency agent, was to walk over to the other airport terminal and take airtran flight to atlanta and continue on the rest. the problem? i was to arrive in atlanta with a half hour to catch the korean air flight to seoul - and as airtran is not part of delta, they could not check my bags or i all the way. this, of course, they failed to mention until after the airtran ticket was purchased, even though they could see i had other flights (sorry, makes me sick sometimes the ineptness and apathy of usa-based customer service).

no time for a refund, as this was a never-ending worry of paperwork (and my agent will have to sort later), i was back on the phone for over an hour with emergency line working through a new itinerary. continental to newark, then hong kong, emirates to bangkok - one way $2400 - of course, this was to be paid out of pocket by yours truly for the time being.

the good news - after nearly leaving home 4 hours later than scheduled, i arrived 15 minutes later to bangkok than the original itinerary. what a day!

okay, got that out of my system. here's a street scene from soi 11 - not often i get to capture one of these in the daytime, and though it's poor quality, i chose it anyway.
