Military Honors

Yesterday we attended a memorial service for a dear family friend who passed away in September from complications after reconstructive surgery he had for injuries received in Iraq 3 years ago. Very unexpected, very emotional and still so unreal to us all.

As we made our way to the church, the front was surrounded by the site of the US flags being held by members of the Patriot Guard Riders (read more about them here at patriotguard.org). It was an inspiring site and only the start to the very emotional service.
