Guiding lights (decorated)
There's a lot of growth and change going on at work right now. No-one can really keep up. Sometimes it feels a bit like a giant snowball rolling down a hill. So many changes with retirals, pregnancies, new workshops, new buildings, new posts. I feel like shutting myself in the studio and hunkering down until the dust settles. Some of us are just plodding on (I feel more ploddy than most), Though I guess some guy ropes are needed to hold a tent down when the wind blows a bit wildly. It feels interesting standing still as all around whirl about. I've been doing slot of standing still recently. You kind of feel invisible standing still, or like youre in the way, but you also get to observe a lot too that isn't seen by all those flying around.
Anyway, today was about acknowledging this change, but also about acknowledging endings. The Puppetry, my old haunt, is moving, and it's workshop leader moving onto management. She was a guiding light for me during our jobshare days and a wonderful teacher.
As to be expected from the Puppeteers it was an event filled with decoration, laughter, thought, beauty, heart, soul, and tears. Just like the old days really. Nice to be reassured that in times of change some things, the important things; the essence, stay the same.
