Drove to Wolverhampton today to visit a new factory under construction. It's a big story. Jaguar Land Rover will be building engines there, turning them out at a rate of one every 36 seconds once production is under way. It is scheduled to begin in mid January next year. The building is the size of 14 football pitches, and it means new jobs for 1,400 people.

Thought it was just an early outing for a few MPs and invited journalists to have a look. Someone else popped in. The Prime Minister took time out from visits to the flood zones for a lightning tour and a quick chat at JLR's new 'Engine Room'.
