A Wet Day in Cambridge
Today was not only Valentine’s Day, it was also our Wedding Anniversary, so we had an Afternoon Tea booked in Harriet’s in Cambridge; this was organised three weeks ago. Earlier this week I looked at the synoptic charts and said the weather on Friday is going to be very wet and windy. We awoke this morning to find it was dull and overcast with only a light wind and no rain. This was not to last, by the time we got to Cambridge it was light rain and a light wind, but this fairly quickly turned into torrential rain with a high wind making it a very unpleasant day for wandering around Cambridge, which we had planned to do. However, Afternoon Tea was excellent, although somewhat spoiled by the one hour Park and Ride journey on the bus to get back to our car. The journey home was equally unpleasant as poor visibility made the journey equally long and unpleasant. Overall not the best Wedding Anniversary we have had, but still an enjoyable occasion although we both arrived home very wet.
This picture was taken early on in Cambridge before the rain became too heavy.
