An evening of Ayckbourn
After sticking around to check out Tash's shorthand classes, it was back to Warwick for an evening of Alan Ayckbourn. Embarrassingly, I had never seen an Ayckbourn production before this evening! Managed to nab the last ticket for the open discussion between him and his biographer (felt rather mean - within seconds there was another woman at the till asking for a ticket and they had to turn her down!). He came across so well, and just so friendly and amenable. You don't find that famous people often come across as just so approachable. It was great to hear about his own productions from the man who directs and writes them.
Straight after it was up to the theatre for his new play Arrivals and Departures - a really great play and incredibly interesting. I wrote a review of it for the Boar and I would highly recommend people go to see it before the run is over tomorrow!
