Over 40 years a valentine

It's funny really, we don't usually 'do' Valentine's Day, but this year both of us sort of felt we wanted to as it's our 40th year. It's going to be staggered as we have an overnight visitor and wanted to have the meal on our own. So his nibs disappeared off last night and got a Waitrose meal deal to cook tomorrow night. (Duck breast with cranberry and apricot stuffing), together with roses and chocolates and a bottle of bubbly. I got the roses last night and the choccies and a card this morning. All rather nice really.

It's tipping it down again outside and I can't see out of the window so I thought this would make a nice view from the window emergency blip. The picture is a cross-stitch his nibs did for our 30th anniversary. He's intending to un-mount it and adjust the numbers to reflect our 40th.

The good news is that the direction of the rain this time has washed down the side windows which looked liked they'd been iced over with salt. Apparently the wind is due to change direction again this evening so we'll be on leak watch again.
