Snow blobs

Love the way some snow gets hung up in the trees to make these blobs.
The centre of it becomes quite frozen over time and the whole thing can start to flow down one side or the other or even both sides of a branch. There was 10 to 30 cm new snow added last night but much blew away this morning.

You can see the plains behind, and another snow storm approaching. Seem to get cloudy snowy patches passing over every hour or two. Much better when you can see where you are going.

At the steeper top of the mountain the weather can be more extreme, the snow deeper and the wind stronger. The lower lifts often have Perspex hoods, the upper lifts are like sitting on a small kitchen chair with a low 20 cm back and just a pole to hold. It pays not to think about how high you are.
