Little Blue Heron

I finally broke my string of not eating out today when I met my brother and his neighbor for breakfast. 2 eggs over-medium, home fries, and wheat toast. Good...filling...tasty. It broke my string of 15 days.

On the way back to the condo...I saw falling tomatoes...falling green tomatoes. I doubled back to see what I could see. The first driver I talked to didn't want to be bothered, but the 2nd guy...a Frenchman...was more than accommodating.

"Is this whole factory filled with tomatoes?"

"About half of it is, along with the building in back."

"Aren't you worried about bruising them as they fall from the hopper?"

"These are quite green, and they're very cold. They don't bruise very easily."

"Are these going to market?"

"Some loads do...but this load is going to feed some cows."

Questions answered. I put 6-7 pictures of the process on my FLICKR PAGE. Take a look. You can ketch-up later.

The green beauties might have been my blip, until I found this little blue heron. She (?) was my second best model of the trip...letting me creep to within 6-7 feet of her. And...she let me take shot after shot. Such a beauty.

Speaking of breaking strings...I didn't have any strawberry shortcake last night...breaking my string at 5. But...as soon as I post this...I'm off to the kitchen to start a new streak.

The only thing better than having strawberry shortcake? I wish I was serving up a bowl for my valentine...wife Lisa. Happy Valentines Day honey. See ya soon.
