Not what it seems

We had a fabulous day out in London, starting with a Clipper boat trip up the Thames from the London Eye to North Greenwich. It's such a relaxing (and cheap) way to see the sights. And you can buy a cup of tea on board. Marvellous.

The wind was wild as we approached the O2, so we were glad of being under cover for a while. When I was at Sundance last year, I visited the British Music Experience and thought that Rory would enjoy it. I wasn't wrong. It's a small music museum packed with outfits and paraphernalia of famous rock stars, from Adele's handwritten lyrics to Chasing Pavements to one of David Bowie's knitted outfits. There are songs to sing and dances to jig (I performed a shockingly bad "Locomotion" and Rory has video evidence of this). All in all, good fun.

There was time left in the day to hit The Disney Store in Oxford Street, one of Rory's favourites. While Rory perused all the amazing stuff, Mum got up to mischief.

At no point in the day did we climb the O2. There are boards outside the venue at ground level, in front of which you can have your photo taken. It's a good trick!
