The Mallard Drake 2

The Mallards were quite frisky and territorial today.Most have now paired up ready for the Spring but this poor chap still seems to be on his own? There are still a number of young females on the pond so maybe he's playing hard to get?

Beautiful colours though. I just love the fine 'Pin' detail in his flanks!!
