Day 4: Going loopy
Got up early and completed yesterdays missed swim set. A steady 40 minutes of going up and down, up and down. I tend never to count how many laps as it not particularly important, the level of effort and the time is, but going by my usual pace I would have done around about 80 lengths.
After a bit of food, it was then out on the bike. The forecast wasn't great so I headed out to the local park. The plan was to get out and do a short loop of 7km until the forecast wind and rain arrived and then head home. I managed 9 or 10 loops and was happy with that.
The only incident of note was with a driver that got too close. We were the only 2 people on the road but still he couldn't give me any more than 2 foot of space as he went past. I don't think that he was being malicious, I just think that he doesn't appreciate how much space he should give. Unfortunately, there is a sizable minority of drivers out there just like him. Drivers that passed their test but have never given much thought to the consequences of even a minor error. A gust of wind could have been life changing for us both.
