The most beautifully made film I've seen in a very long time!

Feeling very sorry for myself as I admit defeat to the symptoms of a cold, I wondered if a good movie and the promise of Benedict Cumberbatch singing could cheer me up...

...what it did do however was reduce me to tears! Tears of laughter from the deep south humour, but also tears of sadness. A family torn apart by the death of their father, gathers together to support their mother, brilliantly played by Meryl Streep where all hell breaks loose, secrets are found out and truths are well and truly told! The cast is first class with Meryl joined by Julia Roberts, Ewan MacGregor and Dermot Mulroney to name just a few.

The tears of sadness were caused by Benedict's character 'little charles aiken' who is socially shy, awkward around women and yet has found the woman of his dreams. He tries to be brave in front of the family that think little of him and says "I want people to know that I got what I always wanted, and that means I am not a loser."

Then he sings to her....
