Mulct
Today's word. I came across it in Niall Ferguson's Ascent of Money. Something to do with scoundrels and investment bubbles. Topical, eh? It was that or flooding.
Anyway, here's Paxman striding across the turf up at Craiglockhart. Yep, I've been catching up on his WW1 stuff. Btw young Andy, who was in the dig dogs last night, told me that his spouse used to live in the tenement in Marchmont that was hit in the Zeppelin raid of 2 April 1916:
About 11.55pm a high explosive bomb fell on the tenement at 82 Marchmont
Crescent, exploded on striking, a large portion of the shell travelling downwards through the ceilings and flooring of these flats and landed on the floor of the ground flat house, number 80 Marchmont Crescent.
No person was injured.
Well, well, well! Right, time to settle with a Black Isle Porter and watch the Thursday night darrrama!
