Sheltering

The night had been wild but listening to the forecast worse was to come, the electricity was out in Schull village and it was tempting to turn around and go home! Being an optimistic sort and knowing that we couldn't really afford to loose a days takings I decided to stay. The supermarket has it's own generator so coffee was possible! The storm did get worse, much worse, peaking at lunch time and then easing, the electric came on by mid afternoon but no telephone or internet. This fishing boat was sheltering just outside the harbour, very glad I was on dry land!
The whole of the Sheep's Head peninsular was in darkness when I drove home and so it was an evening by candle light, lovely for an evening and luckily we have a gas hob to cook on.
