Postojna Caves

Our one excursion of the holiday - a day trip to neighbouring Slovenia to take in the Lipice stud farm (where the white horses used by the Spanish Riding School in Vienna are raised), and the Postojna Caves. These are spectacular and, given that you're not supposed to take photos, difficult to convey the sheer scale of them in pics. The numbers give some idea though - 26km of caves, a 2km train ride in (quite Raiders of the Lost Ark, that was), and some ceilings reaching 40 metres high. I'm sure I saw some dwarves wandering about.
