Feline Friend
I caught this fairly happy feline as Holly and I were riding to imax in the Carlton gardens. Holly has been busy with her own stuff recently and I have been needing to get out of the house and as she volunteers for science works that allows her to get imax tickets for herself and a friend, guess who the friend is? While that's obviously not the reason she volunteers it is nice when there are some perks.
As I stated, we decided to ride in. I've done this ride many times since I used to work at St Vincent's hospital which is right across the road, and have got many blips from this bike route. Today was no exception. I spotted this cat perched up atop his fence, and quickly parked my bike and got my camera out. Unfortunately something on the other side of the fence had distracted him and so my new feline friend was no longer facing my way. I got closer and closer to him trying very hard not to scare him off, but nothing was getting him to look at me. Finally I got so close I tapped on the fence he was sitting on. This got his attention and my fear turned out to be in vain as he was quite happy to be receiving attention and as you can see started rubbing himself on the fence to indicate he wanted a pat. I obliged and then was on my way.
We had lunch at a place on the nearby Lygon Street and then mostly to kill time had a look through the current 007 exhibition going on at the Melbourne museum. It was pretty great and worth a look, they had a lot of props and some interesting stories about Britain's most famous spy. The movie followed, robocop, it was okay and pretty much what you would expect, so a nice easy watch. Then it was another ride home and dinner with a little Game of Thrones on TV.
Today's back blip can be seen here.
