The Sky Reflected
The sky was clear and incredibly blue early this morning. There were a few tiny clouds over the Wither Hills and The Ned to the south of Blenheim. Those hills are virtually naked of trees except in a few gullies. The Ned is partly forested in pines with native bush in behind. It is an entirely different landscape than the one depicted in yesterday’s blip. That image was facing to the north-east and showed the Richmond Range which is well covered in trees, both exotic and native.
Today’s image was captured a few hundred meters upstream from yesterday’s view point. I was walking south along the track on the true left bank of the Taylor River…… upstream. The blue sky was reflected in the waters of the river. It looked summery but cool….. I thought “There’s my blip for the day”.
We had our first camera club meeting for the year tonight so I was very busy all day preparing for the evening. It was a busy meeting but fun and photographically stimulating. Our guest speaker from Nelson gave an inspiring presentation on a recent trip she took to Alaska…in a small ship with only 30 passengers and oodles of time for photography. I came home late but feeling motivated!
