Cultural education
For the moment we are reffering to Nibbler, the duckling, as 'he' but will doubtless turn out to be a 'she'. Tonight we decided to see if he would follow us around. Which of course he took to like a duck to water. I honestly didn't think that the imprinting thing was true. But this little guy does seem to think we are his family and wants to not only follow us around but jump up on our laps at any possible moment where he sits happily preening himself and us.
The boys decided that the next stage in Nibbs' education was to let him watch his first episode of The Simpsons. He did sit happily on Ru's lap looking at the strange yellow faces but eventually decided it was more fun to try to eat the fringes of the rug.
Part of me is saying that I should be a grown up and not let the duck into the house. Let's face it, he may think he's human but that doesn't extend to toilet training. But the big kid in me wonders why not let the boys (and myself) enjoy the experience, I'm sure we'll all learn from it. This side is winning, big time!
