Emmerdale Magic

Today was a mini conference. They take place between the big monthly ones. They involve just a few writers (the writers are rotated so everybody gets a go). They're upstairs in a pub, and we have wine and food. The idea is that anything goes. Have a drink, have a laugh, and chuck in the craziest ideas. Sometimes a big group can spend forever talking about the tiniest of details - I find these smaller groups much more successful in bringing stories out. The people in the shot - Tony Hammond looks like his head is on fire (he's the deputy producer) Kate Oates is our boss, she's the series producer, Mark Bickerton is the story producer, and Ross is new to the team - we've poached him from Corrie.

I chucked in some utterly bonkers ideas, and some of them have been taken up. I'm very excited to be writing the show, and I love this wonderful team I'm a part of.
