Chocolate Loaf Eruption

In an effort to cheer us up, embarked on a spot of baking with dear daughter this afternoon. Made a chocolate loaf cake from the recipe book of the Domestic Goddess herself.
She gets points for suggesting that the loaf tin should be placed on a baking tray. Otherwise the small fortune I've just paid to clean the oven would have been in vain. There was an eruption which any volcano would have been proud of, and more cake on the outside of the tin than within.
Wonder if I'll still be welcome at the Edinburgh Bakers?
