Tram stop
Fabrice Hund is the Amsterdam artist that turned an old utility building into fabulous public art. Since 2012, all six sides of this hexagon shaped transformer shed are a beautiful mosaic.
This pretty lady fills up the side of the building that faces the street, which is directly across from a tram stop in full view of waiting passengers. I never mind a few extra minutes at this stop.
Fabrice has created several other mosaics in Amsterdam, including other three dimensional work, such as the one at the nearby Heinekenplein. Here is more about Fabrice and his work.
Amsterdam has so much character, in large part due to its architecture and public art. This doesn't happen by accident. The people of the city are to be commended for their ongoing investment in public art.
