Deconstruction
For what seems like an absolute age our building at work has had construction workers trampling through, shaking the building up, making a right noise, right mess and in the process, slowly transforming the inside of the building. Still a couple of floors to complete yet. They've started on the new front entrance which currently consists of a huge hole in the ground and a boarded up hole in the side of what is already one of the ugliest buildings in Cardiff. I'm sure it was cutting edge architecture at the time but I find it hard to appreciate it.
So this is all a daily feature of working life. I may as well mark it. The builder with the pole saw me with the camera and made me take another shot of him paying attention. The others laughed at him. They are a nice bunch of guys, always say hello and never leer or shout stuff. One of the advantages of trade unionists who do actually practice what they preach about health and safety and dignity at work.
