Living Gallery
I never tire of going up to the Living Gallery on the rooftop terrace at the Museum of Scotland where plants indicate the wide variety of vegetation to be found in the natural landscape within Edinburgh. The views across the rooftops always amaze me but there is little indication of the fairly deep valley of the Grassmarket between the viewpoint here and Edinburgh Castle basking in the sunshine. Beyond the rooftops over the sea to the east and the Pentland Hills in the south there were dark clouds while a light flurry of snow drifted over shortly after I took the photo in the biting wind. It was good to go down into the warm museum where many children on half term holiday were enjoying the numerous wonderful exhibits particularly in the animal and science sections.
