The Unicorn is back!

On 8th January I blipped a scene of workmen reconstructing the pedestal on which this column stands - the ancient Mercat cross stood in our town centre for centuries.
It has been moved a few times, more recently from the centre of the road where a number of years ago the Unicorn was toppled off and broken by a car transporter negotiating the difficult turn.
It was repaired at that time and hopefully it will be left in peace where it now stands.
The roof in the background is that of the Corn Exchange where at one time the local farmers would gather on market day.
